In this post we will be teaching you step by step how to use DiffSinger models within OpenUTAU
Part 1 - Download OpenUTAU
To download OpenUTAU, click on this link (OpenUTAU Github) and download the version that matches your operating system.
After downloading, extract it wherever you want.
Part 1.1 - Download OpenUTAU LUNAI EDITION
Our partner, Lunai Project, has an exclusive OpenUtau version for use with DiffSinger, which strips away as many elements of other synthesizers as possible for a more focused experience.

Part 2 - Install DiffSinger Model
After downloading one of our models for DiffSinger, open OpenUTAU and drag the model's .zip file into the program.
Change the Encoding to Unicode (UTF-8) and then click Next and then Install
Part 3 - Select Model
After installing the voice, click on "Select Voice" below "Track1" and go to "DiffSinger...", then just select the voice you just installed
Part 4 - Select Phonemizer
After selecting the voice, a phonemizer, a system that translates what is written in the note into phonemes that the model can understand, is automatically selected. In the case of BRAPA voices, the default phonemizer, called DIFFS, is selected.
DIFFS Phonemizer works only with phonemes and entries programmed within each model's dictionary.
Each model may come with a different default phonemizer.
To change the phonemizer, in the case of the image below, just click on "DIFFS" and select another option that starts with "DIFFS" (indicating that the phonemizer was made for DiffSinger), like "DIFFS PT" for example
Warning: Not all phonemizers, even those designed for DiffSinger, are supported by all models. Please check the support information for your voice model before using.
Part 5 - Use Model
To use the template, left-click on the timeline in front of the Track to create a new part.
Double click on this new part to open the midi editor. If this is your first time using it, press the T button to remove the hints.
To add notes, just click and drag inside the piano area and to change the lyrics, double click on the note.
Part 6 - Adding Expressions
To add expressions, click on the gear in the bottom left corner of the midi editor
In the Expressions window, click "Add all expressions suggested by renders" and then "Apply"
After applying, just click on one of the arrows next to the expressions in the lower left corner to change them to expressions supported by the renderer.
Warning: Remember to check the expressions supported by the model before using it.
